Fancy a bit of fun recapturing waste lands in your city? From the Young Friends of the Earth Food & Agriculture Working Group we encourage you to take action against the deterioration of our public spaces, by throwing seedbombs in the context of the 1st may Guerrilla Gardening action day.
Guerrilla gardening is a non profit informal organisation of people interested in giving a new life to those neglected areas in our cities. As we posted last month in our website, one of the initiatives we would like to encourage the people to do is to make their own seedbombs and throw them up on those waste lands scattered around our cities.
2013, it’s the 7th year since guerrilla gardeners in Brussels declared the 1st of May the day for all of us everywhere to go out beyond our gardens and plant sunflower seeds in the hope that they will bring beauty and health to our neighbourhoods.
This action is not only a way to reclaim our right for a better use of the public spaces, but also to transform them in urban gardens from which we can get our food, as a way to show that food sovereignty is possible.
You can encourage your friends, family, organisation to joint this call-out from guerrilla gardening and we remind you the steps to take this up by clicking on here to get the info we posted in a previous new on the website.
Enjoy the fun with the mud!
