Previous campaigns

14/06/2017

Over the years, our climate justice working group has run a number of campaigns, both independently and jointly with other climate justice and youth allies. Many of them are archived here:

Our work around the UN climate talks, including:

  • Our push for climate justice at the COP21 in Paris and beyond – including our 2015 Summer camp in France, where we ran workshops on climate justice, joined actions to fight dirty energy projects with Young Friends of the Earth France, and planned for the run-up to the 2015 COP21 climate negotiations in Paris and beyond.
  • Lima in Brussels, our parallel event to the COP20 climate negotiations in Lima, December 2014. Workshops, activism and movement building towards the 2015 COP21 climate talks in Paris.
  • Qatar in Brussels, an alternative youth space for education, exchange and action between European youth, in response to the COP18 UN climate change negotiations in Doha, Qatar in December 2012
  • Durban in Brussels, which brought 50 youth activists together to Brussels to talk climate justice while COP17 was taking place in South Africa in 2011
  • Act Now! In 2009, Young Friends of the Earth Europe ran a series of trainings and actions in the lead up to the UN Climate talks in Copenhagen. Find out more and see pictures of our work here.

Some of our previous work with allies includes:

Push Europe, a campaign run jointly with other European youth organisations and activists, calling for increased action from European governments to take adequate action to stop climate change.

Climate Spring, a 2014 campaign run with other youth organisations and activists, with decentralised actions across Europe.
