Young Friends of the Earth Europe encouraged local groups to take part in Global Day of Action against TTIP and show that the treaty is not welcome in Europe. Check the list of creative actions and what our groups have been up to on the day!
YFoE France:
Group participated in demonstration with several thousand participants in Paris. Jeunes Amis de la Terre France (YFoE France) co-organized a “lobbyist/vampire” block promoting TTIP in an exaggerated way. For this occasion activists also created song, which you can find here.
The group was very motivated and loud. Not only they were dressed up as lobbyist cheering around, but also had a huge puppet and slogans that many people joined in.

YFoE Croatia:
YFoE Croatia activists joined ‘Stop TTIP’ initiative and other non-governmental organisations, who organised joint protest on the streets of Zagreb. After the action groups were invited to TTIP panel discussion, involving representatives of the initiative. Just before the discussion, organisers together with YFoE Croatia group screened film ‘TTIP- Gefährliche Geheimnisse‘.

YFoE Czech Republic:
Activists got ready for the TTIP Global Day of Action by organizing three smaller events in advance. The held public discussions with the MEP Jan Keller and the Czech economist Ilona Švihlíková, as well as an organized protest action targeting Andre Schapiro, the American ambassador to the Czech Republic.
On the actual day, the streets of Prague were crowded with people protesting against TTIP, using their local version of the Trojan horse. At the same day YFoE group in Brno held a ‘TTIP free picnic’ in spite of the freezing wind! Moreover, some of the activists labeled products in supermarkets and local shops, referring to possible awful consequences of the TTIP treaty being signed.
YFoE Ireland:
TTIP Global Day of Action in Ireland involved street theatre, where they served TTIP on the menu to people passing by. Activists worked closely with a group of Michelin star chefs, who created the wording of a menu and performed a skit to the public sharing what the future of food will look like with the introduction of TTIP. YFoE Germany/BUNDjugend:
On the Global Day of Action against TTIP, CETA and TiSA BUNDjugend (YFoE Germany) took part in huge movement throughout Germany where 170 demonstrations and actions were registered. In Berlin, BUNDjugend organised a photo session with other environmental, social and cultural youth organisations to show their common position against TTIP and CETA. The action had huge media coverage and even made it to the main evening news.
In addition, several local BUNDjugend groups had awareness raising actions around Germany and participated in marches that were organized by the ‘Stop TTIP’ campaign.

Beyond that, BUNDjugend groups collected signatures and informed people about TTIP, CETA and TiSA and the dangerous consequences of those three far-reaching trade agreements.
The YFoEE Food and Agriculture Working Group has prepared a year ahead campaigning against TTIP, including creative action package and other exciting days upcoming that you can get involved with, so keep yourselves updated.
