Join the Global Day of Action against TTIP on 18th April 2015!

25/03/2015

Young Friends of the Earth Europe is supporting the decentralised Global Day of Action against TTIP (the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership), CETA (Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement) and TiSA (Trade in Services Agreement) on 18th April 2015 and invites you to join in. TTIP would have enormous effects on our democracy, the rule of law, consumer and environmental protection, and even on the provision of public services, such as our health service, education, and culture. This needs to be prevented! Let’s show everyone that we want a future without TTIP and that we do not accept a life dictated by the profit maximisation of corporations.

Worldwide, groups will join the protest against TTIP, CETA and TiSA, no matter if they are just a few people, a huge group, young or old, professionals or beginners of that topic.

How can you get involved?

The easiest way to participate is to attend one of the demonstrations that are already planned in some places (https://www.globaltradeday.org/). You can also organise your own action or flash mob to mark the occasion in your town. During your action you can collect signatures for the self-organised European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) so that it will reach a total amount of two million signatures until October 2015. Here you can download the signature sheets for your country.

As a support for groups, BUNDjugend/YFoEE Germany has compiled a tool kit for the Day of Action with examples of creative and eye-catching actions and tips for your public and media relations. Unfortunately, it is in German but don’t hesitate to contact Toril from BUNDjugend/YFoEE Germany (toril.meyer-gerlt@bundjugend.de) if you need some translation, help with your preparation or if you have other questions. Please also send Toril pictures and a very short description of your action.

Check out the website of the self-organised European Citizens’ Initiative for more information about TTIP, CETA and TiSA.
